Badlands

Badlands of USA (South Dakota)
Throwback Thursday ~ Took this pic 10 years back in 2005

Wonder of Nature that contains many buttes, pinnacles and  spires with grass praries where black footed ferrets make homes.
It's amzing to see various shades of earth and wide horizons that take one back in time when dinasours roamed around.
It's difficult to imagine that the area used to be submerged in water as sea bed, eons ago but fish fossils, embedded in the soil, bear witness to the fact.
One cannot help but be impressed by Mother Nature in such a unique surrounding.

Weeping Pussy Willow

Weeping Pussy Willow
An interesting name for a unique plant.

I saw the branches swaying in the wind and was immediately captivated by the dazzling beauty.
The white bristles with yellow tips sparkled in sunlight as if made of Silver and dipped in gold.
The dark red buds looked like studded rubies
where the bristles joined to meet the emerald green stalk.
I had no clue what sort of a plant it was. I took many pictures and later looked at the plaque
that had it's name written on it.
Don't know who named it so. It's an interesting name for a pretty plant!

Tulips

Tulips

I was in fifth grade, when I saw tulips for the first time in my life, on my visit to Amsterdam. I can still remember the rows of color that swayed in the wind as if wave after wave in a colorful sea. I have been in love with tulips ever since.
